The NZJMA welcomes all jet modelers to
attend the ANZAC international Jet Meeting 2009. The event is open to
any jet modeler wishing to participate, however all competitors are
required to comply with all local rules, regulations and by laws. All
information regarding these rules and requirements can be found by
accessing the following links. You are encouraged to peruse these links
as there are some subtle local requirements.
Pilot Qualification:
-
The competitor will be required to
present proof of financial membership of the NZMAA or the national
representing body of the country they reside.
-
The pilot of any aircraft shall be
the holder of NZ Wings accreditation or, for international visitors, a
similar accreditation of competency.
Eligible Aircraft:
Turbine operators:
-
The New Zealand Model Aircraft
Association has in place a
Code of Practice
which clearly outlines all recommendations and requirements for the
operation of turbine powered models. All Pilots and aircraft will be
required to comply with this policy.
-
Fuel will be made available and
mixed on site to the required blend of each individual.
Support Equipment:
Each
competitor is expected to provide all necessary equipment for the
operation of their aircraft with the following exceptions:
-
International visitors shall be
provided with Batteries for charging, Fire Extinguishers and Fuel
containers.
-
Fuel is not provided. Each
competitor shall be responsible for their own fuel requirements.
Radio Frequencies:
-
The approved radio frequencies for
use in New Zealand are 27, 35/36, 40, 72 Mhz and 2.4Ghz range. It is important
to note that as of 1st September 2006 the New Zealand frequency table
was amended which now allows the use of many Australian frequencies.

approved frequencies
-
Frequency control is provided by the
use of a pegboard system rather than the commonly used Silvertone type
keyboard. This requires the pilot to provide their own peg (which can
be made from a typical plastic clothes peg) with a tag attached
clearly stating the pilots name and radio frequency.
Runway and Pits:
-
The event is held at the privately
owned and operated Tokoroa Airport. The Runway surface is 850 meters
long by 18 meters wide sealed asphalt and a further 20 odd meters to
the runway eastern side of hazard free grass. The field elevation is
approximately 1200 feet above mean sea level. The pit area is a well
prepared grass area within a horseshoe shaped sealed taxiway which
leads to the main runway from both sides. An open culvert drain exists
between the runway and the pit area, however this is behind the flight
line and also adds as a form of protection to the public and the pits.
Some of the pictures on our photo gallery
page give a good appreciation of the facilities, alternatively the
Published
aerodrome chart can be viewed for a full airport layout. Flight
path area's are generally unobstructed with all flying being carried
out to the Eastern side of the runway.
