MAS VIGILANTE TURBINE AIRCRAFT
My garage is overflowing with new
projects and something has to go so the Vigilante is offered for sale at a
really good price.
The Vigilante is a high performance
sport jet kitted by MAS in Western Australia. It is very streamlined and very
fast but has large flaps to enable slow landings.
The wing is a clever piece of design
with twin spars supporting a large glass flex plate onto which the retracts are
bolted. The plane has MAS retract units which retract away from the rams to give
a thin profile and undercarriage doors actuated by air rams to minimise drag.
The fuselage is very compact and fully
ducted with carbon fibre bypass and double walled tailpipe. The fuel tanks are
twin 1.2 litre conformal glass tanks that sit outside the ducting.
The model is painted in Blue Angels
colour scheme in PPG lacquer (clear coated) and spare paint is available.
The fit out of the plane is good quality
and the installation is very clean (even if I say so myself). Details are:
